Polyethylene Fuel Tank 1980-1988 J-truck w/ Front Filler

***NOTE: This tank is the 1978-1979 J-Truck with Front Fill tank, but with these modifications below, it will work for 1980-1988 Fleetside J-10 / J-20 pickups (will not work on stepsides):

• To use it on the later model pickups you will also need to buy the 1963-1979 J-truck sending unit (part number HERE), which will read correctly for 1980-1985 models (1986-1988 will have to come up with an alternate solution)
• You will need to space the tank down from the bed to clear the sending unit
• You will have to extend the fuel lines
• If the vent nipple hits the bed support rail, you can notch the rail bracket to clear.

 

Extra thick polyethylene replacement gas tank. This tank includes new lock rings and o-rings.

Tank is 18 gallon capacity and has fill and vent hoses on the front of the tank, with the sending unit hole on top of the tank.

Make sure to remove any plastic shavings inside the tank before installing.  Also, be sure to adjust / dial-in your sending unit before final installation.
