  • Good Replacement for Yellowed Factory Drip Rails

The drip rails on my 1983 and 1990 Wagoneers have started to show their age by becoming yellowed and brittle. I was a bit hesitant to buy these without any reviews from other customers, but I bought them a month ago and installed them 3 weeks ago. Easy, straightforward installation, but not without modification. BJ’s website states that double-sided tape may be necessary to make them fit like the factory ones. This is true. As-is, they are too loose to hold on to the factory bare metal drip rail. I bought some 3M automotive double-sided tape (#03609, 1/2 inch wide, about 20 feet in length) to close the gap between the metal drip rail and the inside of the plastic chrome edge. I only removed the backing of the tape on one side to adhere it to the drip rail. I did NOT remove the backing from the tape on the outside of the drip rail. I wanted to be able to move the new plastic chrome as needed to get it in position and not be stuck with a sticky mess. It looks great and has held on even better at speeds of 60+ MPH. Happy with how it turned out overall! Would buy again.
