MSD Distributor Gear AMC V8

Iron distributor gear for all AMC V8's! Includes New Roll Pin.   If you ever change your distributor or camshaft with an aftermarket unit, you can't mismatch gears in the AMC V8's otherwise they will chew themselves up and scatter metal shavings throughout the engine.  Many people that used off-brand HEI distributors or those that changed cams were unfortunate enough to discover this.  In addition to needing to reuse your timing cover dowels and oil slinger, having a matched set of gears is the easiest way to avoid this expensive and painful mistake.

This is a great replacement for worn out distributor gears, and is a perfect match for new camshaft gears.  We also carry a matching camshaft gear HERE.  MSD has put a great deal of effort into researching and testing a variety of metallurgical compositions, heat treating and coatings to provide you with a durable, accurate and strong distributor gear. MSD engineers have built test fixtures and spent hundreds of hours testing and evaluating the metallurgy of our gears. The result is a special iron alloy gear that is treated to a low-friction coating process. To you this means long life, an easy break-in period and reliable performance!

**Note that these gears are only drilled on one side, and you will need to drill the second hole after mocking up on the distributor (instructions included).
