Product Details

Replace your worn out or missing hood insulation with this new high quality insulation kit. Kit includes hood insulation and instructions. We recommend using 3M Super Trim Adhesive (08090) Hood Insulation Spray Adhesive (available at most local auto parts stores).   

By replacing this, you will reduce the overall temperature of the hood, reduce engine noise and protect your paint. Not to mention, this will make your engine bay stand out and look MUCH better! It can be installed in either orientation, but the preferred method is for the black side to be against the hood.

    Purchased this for a 1973 truck. Visually really good for that factory under hood look. I noticed slightly less engine noise and heat. Install the black side towards the hood. The black side is thick and more solid which holds the pad securely to the underside of the hood. The gray side is the insulation and does not have the structural integrity that the black side does. The cuts are very close but not exact, I had to do some slight trimming at the rear for a precise fit. Use the recommended 3M product, it works great. Do your prep work! A clean surface is necessary. Take the hood off and lay it on some padded sawhorses. I can't imagine doing this with the hood still on the vehicle. Use masking tape and paper on all the surfaces that you do not want glue on because the spray glue is a lot like spray paint, over-spray is not your friend once glue is on it is very difficult to remove. This is a good product.

    This kit was a perfect fit for my 88 GW, easy to install and looks great. I haven't been on the road yet to speak to any noticeable differences but closing the hood already had a better, insulated sound.
