AVS2 650 CFM #1906 Carburetor with Electric Choke in Satin (non-EGR)

The Edelbrock AVS2 Series is the next generation in Edelbrock carburetors. Designed and calibrated for optimum street performance. The AVS2 features annular flow primary boosters with a new calibration for improved off idle and cruising performance. The annular flow booster design delivers improved fuel atomization to eliminate flat spots that may be encountered when the carburetor transitions from idle to full throttle.

Each annular flow booster features eight, equally spaced orifices to improve fuel metering from idle to the main circuit. The improved flow metering makes this carburetor ideal for use with a wide variety of small-block and big-block engines with either dual- or single-plane intake manifolds.

The carb includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. It comes with:

• 1.19” diameter Main Venturi
• 1.44” Primary Bore Diameter
• 1.75” Secondary Bore Diameter

 

Works great with a variety of manifolds that include Edelbrock Performer, Performer EPS, RPM Air-Gap, Performer RPM, Torker II or other brands of similar design.

Installation Notes:

• Edelbrock carburetors are not calibrated for or compatible with alcohol, race or E85 pump fuel.  The use of alcohol or E85 in your Edelbrock carburetor will damage your carburetor and void your warranty.
  The use of a new fuel filter between the fuel pump and carburetor is required. Failure to do so will void the manufacturer's warranty of the carburetor
• You must use Edelbrock Adapter #2732 when installing a Performer Series carburetor on certain Edelbrock intake manifolds

 

When comparing to similar carbs like the Edelbrock Performer 1406 for example, there are two main differences and improvements:

1. The 1906 AVS2 has an annular booster in the primary circuit. What that does is distributes the fuel into the venturi in a 360 degree pattern from the booster. This helps to atomize the fuel and get it into the airstream faster and more evenly distributed. This usually results in better off idle throttle response and improved light throttle drivability.
2. The 2^nd major difference is the secondary air door on the AVS2 (1906) is an improved design so it responds a little more precise to engine demands and can help to make a little more power as the air charge is calibrated more-so for the particular engine.

 

Essentially the AVS2 is just an advancement in the Performer line of carbs. Edelbrock took what already worked pretty good and just improve on it more.
