Product Details

Replacement Gaskets that goes in between the carb insulator and the carburetor and the manifold and insulator on 2 barrel carbs. For those that aren't familiar with these parts, on a stock carburetor, there is a fiber insulator that raises the carb off the intake manifold to reduce temps of incoming air / fuel.

Again, overall I was pretty happy with the flange gasket and upper carburetor gasket. The problem tho is that I didn't talk to Ryan about my situation prior to my purchase and explained as best I could that Oreillys sold me a flange gasket and it was waaaay to thin....that I thought the engine sneezed and popped because of a huge vacuum leak at the base. I told Ryan that the original gasket was thick (I measured with micrometer at just over 2 mm. I told him it looked like a crush gasket with metal and fabric. I was told those aren't available anymore but I felt confident that the gasket Ryan would send would be thicker. I took both my old insulator and the new 1 from you and put them bottom to bottom simulating insulator bottom to intake with gasket in between and there was at least 1/16 or 3/32 gap. Gasket was was loose and floppy. I'm telling you this because maybe you guys can take a look at this situation. There's no way possible to get a good seal with what you sent. I feel like I wasted my money. **BJ's Response: our gaskets are the same thickness as the stock originals that came on these when new. We've been selling this same gasket for 25 years without issues and know that they are correct & fit properly. Unfortunately it sounds like there may have been an issue with your set-up (maybe it wasn't the original carb or something was wrong with the intake mounting surface) that caused the gap.
