Note that the alternator comes with a single-groove pulley. If you have a double-groove pulley, you will need to change them over (they are a direct swap). Also, if you have an older model vehicle with an external voltage regulator, you can use this alternator with some minor wiring changes under the hood. This will allow you to remove the external regulator and associated wiring too!

I purchased this 150 amp alternator as a replacement for my 1971 AMC powered j4800. Works great! Pros: Reliable, American made with extra power for accessories like a winch vs a Chinese rebuilt job. Cons: I needed to step up one belt size and the power terminal is extremely close to the oil filter. (Probably a good idea to disconnect battery for filter changes!) BJ's Response: You can clock the alternator case halves if your set-up has items close to the alternator
