Red-Head Steering Boxes are some of the best remanufactured boxes in the industry! They use only the highest quality seals. All seals are either O.E.M. or produced by two high quality, long time suppliers of our industry.  Probably the most unique and important thing they do is custom fit every single worm and piston assembly with new precision fit steel balls. This is a process not matched by any other company in the industry. This process is very important. The machining tolerances of the original manufacturing leave a small and varying amount of play that can be corrected in no other way.

Porting for Hydraulic Assist Steering Option: This option is for rigs with 37" or larger tires that do a lot of hard-core off-roading.  It is when you add a hydraulic cylinder and bracketry to the steering to help push the tires when off-road and against rocks, and the porting option on the box allows the steering box to power the hydraulic ram (not included).  If you do not have large tires and do hard-core off-roading, then you would select NO for this option.

**NOTE: due to the rarity of this steering box, we do not keep any cores in stock.  As such, you will need to send in your 1980-1988 J-20 Power Steering Box to be rebuilt.  To do this, place an order for this box, and then we'll contact you about how / where to send the box in for rebuilding.  Note that shipping is included both ways, so there is no extra charge for shipping.

**CORE NOTE: All cores must be in good, rebuildable condition.  Any cores that have damaged / non-usable parts may incur charges. We only accept original boxes to be rebuilt (no AGR, etc).
