**Note: when installing the lock cylinder, make SURE that you have the release pin / tab in the correct position (where it aligns with the small hole) before installing. If you install the lock in the wrong orientation, you can't remove it without drilling it out.

Great lock
Make sure to align new lock cylinder with the rectangular slot in the metal slide. This slide is located inside the billet crank itself. The new lock cylinder has a pin/point on the end of it that will go into that metal slide in the crank. If you trap that slide in the wrong position, the crank will be locked up and you have to drill out the new lock assembly.

Works as it should. HOWEVER, if you have not replaced a tailgate lock before be aware that you can “pin” the detent making the whole crank lock. Make sure you line the nipple on the back of the lock with the grove in the detent within the crank.
