This gasket DOES accept the factory chrome trim!!!!
*Note: when installing, put the seal on the vehicle first, and then install the glass. If you try to install the seal on the glass first, it will appear that it is too large (which it isn't).

Great product. Fits great. No silicone or sealing compounds needed.
Pro Tips: Femove wipers. Install gasket on vehicle first; fat side to the inside. Spray a mist of soapy water inside the ENTIRE groove where the glass will land. Install top of glass upward and into the grove first. Use wooden 1 x 2 blocks at the windshield wiper mounts to prevent glass from sliding down. Then do the sides. Then push glass up EVENLY to do the bottom. Add cardboard shims or door shims to the 1 x 2s as you progressively raise the glass to keep it up and in-place. Be patient and careful. Butterknife works great from the inside to assist pushing gasket outward so the rubber can grab ahold of the glass. Do dot let butterknife touch the glass. 1 person can do this. 2 can be also helful. (I just like wokring alone on these types of tasks).

Fits great. Exactly what I needed for my 1981 Waggoner. Does have the grove for the trim. Don’t know if I’m going to put the trim back on or not.
