Buick 350 Oil Pump Booster Midplate
This Buick 350 midplate sandwiches between the oil filter adapter and the timing cover. Eliminating the tendency of the steel gears to chew into the aluminum cover, this ductile iron plate will also make the pump more efficient at low rpm. This will extend the life of your oil pump gears by giving them a new surface for them to ride on.
The booster midplate kit will provide additional oil pressure throughout the rpm range, especially at idle.
The steel plate also acts as a girdle reducing the amount that the aluminum timing cover expands when hot, keeping pump clearances tighter thus resulting in additional pressure.
Installation is easy: remove your oil filter adapter, clean the mating surfaces, install the new midplate and gaskets, reinstall new bolts and you are done!!
